South Africa's international airports - |
|
International Airports serving mostly African destinations include the Pilanesburg Airport near Sun City and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport near the Kruger National Park. Port Elizabeth Airport recently acquired"international" status but is not yet serving international flights. South Africa's main airports have been privatised and most, including the biggest three, are managed by the Airports Company of South Africa (see link below). The country features an advanced air transport system with regular daily flights between major centres. Smaller destinations are serviced almost daily by smaller planes and companies. Apart from international and regional airports South Africa has several domestic airports serviced by scheduled flights as well as other small private airports and airfields making chartered small plane flights a very viable option (for shorter hops between destinations).
