Shuttle Service - |
|
In tourism
the term "shuttle service" is mostly used by hotels (although
not exclusively so). It refers to a transport service provided to guests
- mostly between a hotel and nearby attractions or the closest airport
(transfers). Some hotels will offer
the service free of charge while others will do so at a small cost. Shuttle
services normally make use of a mini-bus (also known as a "van")
although upmarket hotels may utilise luxury sedans. If you want to opt for a more affordable hotel, which is not within walking distance of the primary attractions in the area, it is worthwhile to enquire on the availability of a shuttle service before booking. It will save you the expense of a rental vehicle, as well as saving on accommodation. If you want to opt for a more expensive hotel but don't want to drive yourself a shuttle service also comes in handy. In most African countries public transport is best avoided and shuttle services fill the void. Shuttle services should not be confused with excursions or day tours provided by tour operators.
