The Pinnacle Rock near Graskop in Mpumalanga

The Pinnacle is a 30m high quartzite rock "needle", in an escarpment ravine approx. 10km from Graskop, Mpumalanga. The Ngwaritsane River flows down the ravine, cascading over eight waterfalls along the way. A car-park-view-point is signposted from the R534. The ravine is covered in dense bush and ferns and you'll need a local guide should you wish to venture into the ravine. From time to time rock climbers from Gauteng scale the needle, it is however a difficult climb and you need to be well equipped to do it. The Pinnacle forms part of the popular Panorama Route.
