Mpumalanga Highveld - |
|
The Highveld
actually includes large parts of Gauteng,
such as Johannesburg (1800m above
sea-level). Mpumalanga Highveld refers to that
section of the Highveld that falls within the boundaries of the province
of Mpumalanga. The term Highveld refers to the highest sections of the plato which are generally between 1700m and 2200m above sea level. The Mpumalanga Highveld is mostly open savannah (grass lands). Some areas are flat but as you approach Dullstroom and Lydenburg the topography gets hilly. Beyond that you are getting closer to the escarpment and the terrain starts getting mountainous.
