- Linking your website to Quickies -

Everyone & anyone are allowed to link to Quickies
We at Africa Deluxe Tours could not state this clearly enough, whatever the content, context, quality or purpose of your site you are welcome to link to us. In fact, we we would genuinely appreciate it if you decided to link to us. In doing so you are providing us with exposure. We strongly believe in the marketing slogan: "there's no such thing as bad publicity". We want people to stream to this site and by linking to us you are helping to make that happen.

What will we do in return?
As tour operator our function is providing quality tour-related services. The first and best thing we will do when you link to us is exactly that, i.e. we will provide the internet visitors you "channel" to our site with quality touring services. A pedestrian rope bridge over ravine at Monkeyland on South Africa's popular Garden Route. If they choose to use our services we will endevour to give them such a memorable traveling experience that it will turn them into advocates for our service - compelling them to also link their websites to us!

The statement above obviously refers to website visitors who may be interested in our touring services, for the rest we will keep on building the Quickies section of our site as a valuable and/or entertaining information source.

We can't promise to link back to you unconditionally. We will link back to your website only if requested and if your site meets the following criteria:

  • It must make for a worthwhile visit. We're not interested in bells & whistles (gadgets), we're looking for interesting content.
  • The site must not be offensive in any way, e.g. promoting or consisting of: exploitation, discrimination (race, sex, religion, association, etc.), foul language or humour, illegal activities, etc.
  • If the site is travel related it may include warnings or criticism of specific destinations, establishments in our region (Southern & Eastern Africa), etc., but must not be completely negative and degrading in its approach.
  • The site may not be a commercial travel site competing directly with our own (sites adding to our services are welcome, e.g. sites relating to travel insurance, travel guides, travel tips, etc.).
  • If you own a tourism product in Southern or Eastern Africa, e.g. a guest house, hotel, attraction, etc., we will gladly include a link back to your website, Lion up a tree.provided that we are satisfied that you provide the kind of quality and value for money that we expect for our clients (see the industry section of our website* if you wish to introduce your tourism service / product to us).

How to link to us if you have web design skills
If you have the necessary skills to program links into your site the best target to aim at is the Quickies' "South Africa home page" at http://www.afrilux.co.za/quickies/south_africa.htm. From there your visitors can freely browse through the whole of Quickies. The various alphabetical lists of topics are located at http://www.afrilux.co.za/quickies/a.htm, etc. - that is just replace the "a" in the link provided with the appropriate letter ("b", "c", "d", "e", etc.).

You may find it difficult to ascertain the links of other specific topic pages in Quickies if you accessed our site via our main website (www.afrilux.co.za), as we normally open the Quickies section in a java scripted pop-up window, Curios stalls at God's Window in South Africa's Mpumalanga Province.which does not include an address bar. The easiest way to get around this is to open the above URL in a separate window by typing it into the address bar and hitting 'enter'. In this way you will have an address bar available from which to copy a page's URL once you've browsed to it (using the alphabetic topic lists, which can be accessed at the top of each Quickies page).

You could also right-click on any blank area of the relevant page and choose "properties" from the right-click menu. You'll find the address of the page next to "URL". Alternatively you may contact us and request the hyperlink for a specific topic in our Quickies section.

For javascript links we recommend the following window attributes: width=557, height=450, scroll-bars & resize handles. The Quickies template is a basic table with width set at 100%, therefore it will resize to any window size. However, it does present better at the above settings as sentences do not stretch across the full screen.

How to link to us if you don't have web design skills
Contact your web hosting company or web designer... Often that's your only choice. However, if you have access to the relevant domain on the server housing your website, and are able to make basic changes or additions to your site's html source code you can use the html code below to paste links into your site.

"cut & paste" links for your website
The links on the left of the screen are actual links, click on them to view their behaviour. Below each link we've given a description of its behaviour, which is not part of the link.
On the right you will find the html text that creates the link on the left, minus the description. Cut (ctrl+x) and paste (ctrl-v) this text into a web page's html source code to create the link on your site (remove line breaks).
