The Nature Reserve encompasses the Krantzkloof George through which the Emolweni River flows. The word Krantz is Dutch / old Afrikaans for "cliff". The Reserve offers various demarcated scenic nature walks catering to the needs of the fit and adventurous as well as the not so fit. Most walks cut through riverine forest at the edge of the George offering views of waterfalls and small pools. The Reserve also includes some grassland areas. It is rich in fauna and flora. Antelope such as impala, gray and blue duiker and many species of birdlife may be seen. It is also a popular rock-climbing venue. Krantzkloof offers 2 picnic sites at the falls, toilets and a braai area.
