The Eastern Province Society of Arts and Crafts (EPSAC) is housed in an old Victorian house in central Port Elizabeth. It is located on the edge of the central business district in a somewhat decaying neighbourhood. The gallery is surrounded by amongst others jazz joints, pubs, pool halls and the Opera House. The area is a melting pot of cultures. To a degree this is reflected in the gallery's exhibitions. It hosts regular exhibitions of mainly contemporary art. The Gallery provides a window on the works of established artists, students and previously disadvantaged black artists.
