The Croc River Enviro Park was previously known as the Crocodile River Snake and Reptile Park, it is still listed by the latter name in most travel guides. The Enviro Park is located in Nelspruit (Mpumalanga) and is one of the city's main tourist attractions. It lies just off Route 40 (R40) -direction White River- in close proximity to the Lowveld National Botanical Garden, the Emnotweni Casino and the Riverside Mall.

If you're a nature purist preferring only the soundest conservation practices this may not be your cup of tea. If the sight of animals in cages make you cringe, as with us, rather head for the Kruger National Park - less than an hour's drive from Nelspruit. However, if you don't mind the cages and would like to view a host of different reptiles from up-close Enviro Park may be just your spot.

Croc River Enviro Park offer visitors a variety of attractions including: Turtle Ponds, Crocodile Ponds, a Fish Pond, a Water Monitor Lizard Pond, a Desert House, a Tropical House, a Demonstration (snake) Pit, an Animal Touch Farm and a Reptile Gallery. The Reptile Gallery has 88 cages, where indigenous and exotic reptiles from all over the world are displayed.

The Tropical House features a 9m high indoor waterfall, an aquarium with dwarf crocodiles from Central Africa and two snake pits. Live presentations and demonstrations, held at scheduled times, are performed in a Demonstration Pit.

The Crocodile Riverside Trail offer visitors the opportunity to explore the undisturbed natural vegetation of the Lowveld, with many species of indigenous plants and shrubs, as well as a large variety of birdlife. It includes picnic spots with braai (barbecue) facilities. The Enviro Park also has an on-site snack shop.

An Animal Touch Farm introduces city children to farm livestock. Pony Rides are provided for younger visitors. Adjacent to it there's a children's play area, featuring a Jungle Gym, a Jumping Castle and various tables in a shaded area.
