Overview
The Airport is located just outside Cape Town, click here for more info on the city.Cape Town International Airport (CIA) is the second largest and the second busiest airport in South Africa, smaller only than Johannesburg International Airport (JIA). On average it handles ±4.6 million passengers annually, it is believed that this figure will increase to 14 million by 2015. The airport has in the last few years undergone major expansion and refurbishment programs to cope with the increasing number of passengers, which is a direct result of the increase in tourism to South Africa. 5 Boeing 747's from 4 different international airlines at Cape Town Airport.Construction at the airport is ongoing (as is the case at JIA). A new international arrivals terminal was opened in 2001 and a new international departures terminal in 2003.

A number of large international carriers have offices at Cape Town International including Air France, Air Mauritius, Air Namibia, BA Comair, British Airways, Civair, Egypt Air, Kulula.com, LTU International Airways, Lufthansa and Malaysia Airlines.

Airport transfers and more detailed airport information
CIA is located about a 20-minute drive from the Cape Town city centre.
