Bloukrans River Bridge & Bungy - |
|
| Overview A few kilometres west of Storms River Mouth, on the Garden Route (South Africa), the N2 crosses the Bloukrans River Gorge over an impressive reinforced-concrete arch-bridge by the same name. The Bloukrans River Bridge (1983) is claimed to be the fourth largest concrete bridge in the world. Its concrete arch has a span of 272m and its deck stretches 451m across the Gorge. The Bridge and Gorge are both quite spectacular. The site also features an arts & crafts market - the Tsitsikamma Forest Village Market - and a visitor's centre.
However, the On taking the jump the length of the initial fall is ±7 seconds. The recoil or/ pull back after the initial jump is ±160m or higher than the Victoria Falls bungy, which is the second highest in the world. You have the option of including a video of your jump in your bungy package. The site is managed very professionally, with high safety standards, and is open 7 days a week. Africa Deluxe Tours will gladly incorporate the jump into a client's itinerary if so requested. (Also see: Paul Sauer Bridge)
