The add-on tour to the Window to Africa Sugarcraft 2000 international show comprises a selection of the most popular highlights of South Africa*, including: game and nature reserves, exposure to traditional African cultures, a wonderful scenic variety, sandy beaches, the Garden Route*, the splendour of the Cape Peninsula* and the winelands of the Boland. It also includes a day in Durban* and Cape Town*, organized by the local Guilds to share ideas and to enjoy together

We are operating this tour at a very special price of R13 000 per person sharing (± £1 300 or ±US$1860). This is exactly the same price we operated identical tours at a year ago! Single persons electing to share with another tour member do not have to pay a single supplement (we will appoint a roommate if necessary). Sunday, 15 October - Pretoria to Pilgrim's Rest (D)
The Voortrekker Monument on a hill overlooking Pretoria commemorates the epic trek to the interior of the first white settlersEnjoy breakfast at your Pretoria hotel or other accommodation establishment from where you've attended the South African Cake Decorators' International Show. After breakfast you will be picked up. Leave Pretoria behind and travel through the Eastern Highveld* to the historic gold mining village of Pilgrim’s Rest*. Stop over at the rural village of Dullstroom* to browse and enjoy lunch.

Monday, 16 October - Pilgrim's Rest to Kruger National Park (BD)
After a guided tour of Pilgrim’s Rest*, visit the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window and travel through the Mpumalanga Lowveld* to the famous Kruger National Park* for your first glimpse of Africa's wildlife.

Thursday, 19 October - Swaziland to Hluhluwe (BD)

Monday, 23 October - Knysna to Oudtshoorn (BD)
Aerial photograph of Knysna Lagoon and Indian OceanExplore the town of Knysna*. Take a trip on the lake to the Featherbed Nature Reserve and visit 'The Heads' where the lake joins the sea. Board the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam train to George, enjoying the scenic beauty of Sedgefield, Wilderness* and Victoria Bay. Travel by coach via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn*.

Tuesday, 24 October - Oudtshoorn to Mossel Bay (BD)
Oudtshoorn* is renowned for the Cango Caves* and ostrich farming*. A drive over Robert's Pass, with stops to enjoy the scenery, brings you to Mossel Bay*.

Wednesday, 25 October - Mossel Bay to Cape Town (BL)
Travel via the historic town of Swellendam* and along the lovely coastal drive passing through Kleinmond, Betty's Bay, Pringle Bay and Gordon's Bay to Cape Town*. Leisure time at Hermanus with the possibility of whale spotting, lunch.

Thursday, 26 October - Cape Town (BD)
The view political prisoners at Roben Island were sometimes lucky to see when doing labour on the beachTravel by Ferry to Robben Island where president Mandela and many of his comrades were kept prisoner. Enjoy a guided tour of the island and prison.

Resume your bus tour, explore the
Cape Peninsula* following a scenic drive along the coast to Houtbaai (lunch). Proceed on the breathtaking Chapman's Peak Drive*. Visit the internationally acclaimed Kirstenbosch botanical gardens which attract as many visitors as the Kruger Park*. Enjoy tea in the tea garden.

Friday, 27 October - Cape Town (BLD)
Day program organized by the Sugar Craft Guilds of Somerset West and vicinity. End a lovely day at sunset by taking the cable car to the top of Table Mountain* with a splendid view of Cape Town* and surrounds while enjoying a picnic-supper with members of the Guild.

Saturday, 28 October - Cape Town - Home (BL)
Labourer with grapes that will be turned into top class South African wineTravel inland to visit the valleys nestled amongst impressive mountains where South Africa's* famous wine estates are located. Stop over at Paarl, Franschoek - French Huguenot country - and the beautiful student town of Stellenbosch*, known for its dappled avenues of three-centuries-old oaks.

Visit a wine estate for a tour of the cellar and wine tasting*. Buy a few bottles of wine to enjoy at home while reminiscing about a wonderful holiday in sunny South Africa*. Depart for home from Cape Town International Airport*.
