Evening
tour: Lesedi Tribal Village
|
- Local tour 3
- Thursday, 12
October, 5pm - late
- R250 per person

This excursion
makes for a very informative, lively and entertaining night out.
On arrival you are greeted by your traditional host (dressed in
traditional regalia). After a introductory video on South African
cultures your host will lead you of to the first of four traditional
"kraals" (African communal area, dwellings organized in
a circle).
During
the next 30 minutes or so you will be introduced to the Zulu's*,
Pedi's, Basotho's and Xhosa's. You will see what their dwellings
looks like and will meet people from the different tribes. Your
host will explain some cultural aspects of each tribe and you will
learn how to greet someone belonging to the tribe.
After
some refreshments and light snacks its time for an extremely rhythmic
experience, traditional dances to the beat of African drums - quite
something! Once again you'll be treated to a range of traditional
dances covering all of the tribes that you've been introduced to.
You can even join in the fun if you feel up to it.
The evening
is rounded of with an African feast, your host will introduce you
to the various traditional delicacies and you'll have plenty of
time to sample as much of it as you wish. If you're lucky you might
even end up at the host's table.
